Senior wide receiver Alex Brown, a 6'4" standout from Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas, has played his final game for the Wyoming Cowboys. During his Monday press conference, Wyoming football head coach Jay Sawvel announced that Brown suffered a broken fibula in last Saturday's narrow 27-25 loss to Utah State. Sawvel shared that Brown is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week, officially ending his collegiate playing career.
Over his Wyoming career, Brown appeared in 47 games, totaling 19 receptions for 229 yards and averaging 12.1 yards per catch. He first saw the field in the 2019 and 2020 seasons but didn’t log his first reception until 2021. His career highlight came in 2022, during the Border War matchup against Colorado State University, when he hauled in a memorable 32-yard touchdown. The catch helped Wyoming retain the Bronze Boot, a prized rivalry trophy. Brown managed two receptions for 21 yards this season before his unfortunate injury. Brown walked onto the field for senior day in 2023, but ultimately decided to return for the 2024 season
A three-star recruit by Rivals and 247 Sports, Brown chose Wyoming after being recruited by Air Force, Southern Miss, Tulane, Columbia, and Yale.
