Wyoming hosts the New Mexico Lobos in their first game of conference play at War Memorial Stadium for the 2023 season. New Mexico comes into Laramie with a 2-2 record, fresh off an overtime road victory over UMass last weekend. What To Expect:

Based on the stats below, It appears that New Mexico dominates those most categories, but that can be deceiving. New Mexico throttled Tennessee Tech which did inflate their stats, but it is still a somewhat relevant comparison because numbers don't lie. It is clear that New Mexico has a somewhat similar game style (with some more pass plays) to Wyoming, so we anticipate seeing the Lobos have a balanced passing and ground game. New Mexico can be a real threat and has been over the years, so don't sleep on them. Like always, expect a strong showing from veteran players like Gr. OT Frank Crum, Gr. NT Cole Godbout, and Jr. LB Easton Gibbs. Expect Wyoming's defense to be on point as always. On the offensive side of the ball, expect Tr. RB Harrison Waylee to run most of the snaps, and hopefully Gr. Tr. QB Andrew Peasley will be ready to go this week after a lackluster performance last week against Appalachian State. Offensive play calling continues to be conservative, but maybe we could see some passing to the WR's like Gr. WR Ryan Marquez. Who will win? Wyoming.
