Wyoming Cowboys head coach Craig Bohl provided insights into the team's ongoing fall camp, shedding light on player performances, injury concerns, and his outlook for the upcoming season.

Bohl began by expressing his satisfaction with the team's progress and commitment to improvement. Particularly highlighting the offensive line's development, he noted, "The offensive line is continuing to make progress. We're finding 8 offensive linemen, and it's great to see the unit come together." A standout emerging from the camp is Luke Sandy, who has been pushing himself to excel. Bohl emphasized Sandy's determination and drive, acknowledging that he's in a competitive battle for his spot with Wes King. Bohl stated that the quarterbacks are not where they need to be, but they are working on that.

On the injury front, there's some concern about Dwayne McNeely's knee injury. Bohl revealed that the team would be conducting an MRI due to initial indicators of potential injury that could be severe. Bohl's genuine concern for McNeely's well-being was evident, and he stressed the importance of thorough assessment.

Another player drawing Bohl's praise is cornerback Kolbey Taylor, who has been impressing in the camp. Bohl mentioned, "Kolbey Taylor has had a great camp and is showcasing his skills on the field."

Regarding the kicking game, Bohl displayed confidence, noting that both John and Clayton are performing well and that the kicking game is looking solid.

Bohl urged the team to continue pushing for excellence, emphasizing the need to maintain a high level of performance. He stated, "I'm pleased with the progress, but we need to keep pushing ourselves to reach our potential."

When asked about the atmosphere of the camp, Bohl dismissed any notion of a "Macho Man" mentality, stressing the importance of unity and a team-oriented approach. He pointed out that the team has come together well and praised the efforts of players like running backs Jamari Ferrell and Sam Scott.

Turning to broader issues in college football, Bohl commented on the Mountain West Expansion discussions. He humbly stated that such matters are "outside of [his] paygrade," but expressed his admiration for the unity among the 12 football coaches and their institutions within the conference. Bohl also gave credit to the leadership of past commissioner Craig Thompson and current commissioner Gloria Nevarez.

Bohl also singled out a few players for individual accolades. He commended Cole Godbout's performance and improvement, noting that he's having his best fall camp yet. Sebastian Harsh's recovery from a knee issue was also mentioned, underscoring the team's commitment to player well-being.

Frank Crum, a player who has built himself up all the way into inspiring NFL draft boards, received heartfelt praise from Bohl. "He represents this state well, and I know he's on everybody's NFL draft board," Bohl remarked, reflecting on Crum's impact and potential.

Wrapping up the conference, Bohl addressed the intangible aspects that make this year's fall camp different. He highlighted the emotional investment and loyalty of many older players who chose to stay with the team. Bohl acknowledged the potential for a special season but underscored that success is not guaranteed, and the team must continue working hard to achieve their goals.
