Meet Brian Feraud, a University of Wyoming athletics fan whose family tree is “brown and gold.” Brian told us there’s not a time he can remember when he wasn’t cheering for his beloved Pokes. Brian grew up in Worland, Wyoming, and shared his childhood memories of working on the ranch. "My dad was a Pokes fan, my grandpa was a Pokes fan," Brian recalls. "We’d listen to the games at the ranch on Saturdays. I remember we’d be out working and be in the truck, listening to the football games, which was always awesome."

Brian resides in Casper, where he has worked as a medical sales rep for 23 years. Although he moved from his hometown, his loyalty to Wyoming athletics remains as strong as ever, which includes the passion that his entire family shares. "My wife graduated from the University of Wyoming, and so did my brother. All my family are Pokes fans," he says proudly. His sons, whether they're already at the University of Wyoming or on their way, carry on the family tradition of supporting the Cowboys.

Some of Brian’s fondest memories are tied to Wyoming football games, particularly a couple of unforgettable matchups. "The 2:30 AM ending for the game against Northern Illinois was awesome," he says with a smile. "My wife and family couldn’t stand it and left early, but I stayed until the end. I always tell my family, we never leave games early because you never know what’s going to happen."

Another great memory for Brian was a thrilling game in the early '90s against San Diego State. "It was like a track meet," he recalls. "Wyoming beat them 52 to 51 in Laramie. It was so much fun to watch."

Brian doesn’t have very many game day traditions, but he and his family are always dressed in brown and told. He said he makes it a point to visit the Brown and Gold Store before every game. "I own more brown and gold stuff for my kids and wife than I know what to do with," he laughs. Despite the changes in his routine, one thing remains constant: "We never leave early."

Looking ahead to the 2024 football season, Brian is optimistic. He’s excited about the new head coach, Jay Sawvel, and the team’s potential. "I think they’re bringing in good players, and I’m excited. If they open up their offense a little more, I think they’ll do really well," he says.

Beyond football, Brian is also looking forward to what Sundance Wicks will bring to Wyoming basketball. "I think he’s the real deal because he’s a Wyoming guy and knows how passionate people are about sports here. I think he’ll do great with this team," Brian predicts.

For Brian Feraud, being a Wyoming fan is what keeps him going through life. He says, "I just love watching the Pokes every year. My wife will tell you this: I always say, ‘God, let me live one more year so I can watch one more year of Wyoming football.’"
