The Wyoming Cowboys return home on Saturday for their home opener against the Idaho Vandals. The game will be promoted as a Gold Out, as Wyoming fans are encouraged to wear gold for the Cowboys' home opener. It will kick off at 1:30 p.m. and will be televised on truTV.

Wyoming is currently on a seven-game winning streak at War Memorial Stadium. The Cowboys went undefeated last year at home, including wins over Texas Tech, Appalachian State, and Fresno State. Wyoming has won five consecutive home openers and is looking to extend its home winning streak against Idaho on Saturday.

The Cowboys hope to bounce back after losing 48-7 last Saturday against Arizona State. Wyoming got into an early hole after Cowboy quarterback Evan Svoboda threw an interception on the game's second play, and the Pokes never recovered from a slow start. Wyoming didn’t score until three seconds to go in the game when Kaden Anderson threw a touchdown pass to Chris Durr. Durr became the first true freshman since Jovon Bouknight to catch a touchdown in a game.

Idaho is coming off an impressive game against Oregon last week. They held the Ducks in check for most of the night and only lost 24-14. This will be the ninth meeting all-time between the Cowboys and the Vandals. Wyoming leads 7-1 all-time, but the Vandals have given the Cowboys plenty of scares. Wyoming only won 21-16 in 2019; the 2012 team won a 40-37 overtime thriller at the Kibbie Dome. The 1996 Cowboys only beat Idaho 40-38 at home, which was en route to a 10-win season for Wyoming.
