San Francisco 49er safety Tashaun Gipson is gearing up for a pivotal moment in his career as he prepares to take the field in Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs this afternoon. Hailing from the Mountain West Conference, Gipson is one of the two players from the conference set to make an appearance in the highly anticipated championship game.

Gipson's journey to the Super Bowl runs through his time at the University of Wyoming. From his debut as a freshman to his stat-filled senior year where he had 95 total tackles. Gipson left a mark on the Wyoming football program with 250 combined tackles and 9 interceptions.

After going undrafted, Gipson became an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2012 as a defensive back. Despite limited appearances in his rookie season, Gipson snagged three interceptions, setting the stage for a promising career ahead. His performances over the years earned him Pro Bowl nominations and established his presence in the NFL.

From the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears, Gipson's ability to read the game, make timely plays, and elevate the performance of his teammates has remained constant, no matter which team he plays for.

Gipson is certainly a true ironman as his 12th NFL season closes today. He has an impressive resume including starting 165 NLF games out of 173 he has played. Even more impressive is that Gipson has started in every game he has played since the 2014 season. Gipson is in the last year of his contract with the 49ers.
